Patricia Mary Franke, 80, of Lake City, died Friday, April 12, 2024 at the Great River Home in Lake City. She was born September 22, 1943 to Ferdinand and Rose (Sexton) Franke in Wabasha, Minnesota.
Patricia lived most of her life on the family farm with her parents. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, West Albany, where she made her first communion and confirmation. She loved going to Mass and was always seen with her rosary beads in her hands.
Family was everything to her and she was so excited to get two nephews. Patricia loved them unconditionally and made sure all birthdays were celebrated. She attended and worked at the Wabasha County DAC for 13 years. She had favorite jobs there and enjoyed spending the money she earned by taking her family out for pizza.
Patricia enjoyed bowling and received many medals for Special Olympics competitions. In 2007, she moved to Great River Homes, Prairie Street. Her hobbies were puzzles and beading necklaces. She and her housemates shared many fun times and activities together. She loved going to the zoo and to Lark Toys. Instead of going on vacations, she simply wanted to spend time at the farm. Brother, "Jimmy", and sister, Margaret, were always in her conversations.
Patricia is survived by her brother, Jim (Diane) Franke; sister, Margaret (Tom) Haase; nephews, Cody and Mike Haase; step-nieces, Theresa (Joe), and Lisa (Aaron); step-great-nieces, Amber (Estin), Kayla, Vivian, and Madeline; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ferdinand and Rose; and by many aunts and uncles.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held Friday, April 19, 2024 at 11 am at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in West Albany with Father The Hoang officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Interment will take place at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church Cemetery. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
Patricia led a very simple life, not venturing far from Wabasha County, but the number of lives touched by her were many. She was such a shining example of God's love. She wanted to be with Mom and Dad again, and so she is. There are no wheelchairs in Heaven!!
