Patricia "Pat" Ann (Pfahl) Brown, age 86, of Lake City passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the Lake City Care Center after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on November 28, 1929 in Venturia, North Dakota to Christ and Emma (Fuller) Pfahl. She graduated from Glenwood High School in 1948. On February 18, 1950 she married Thomas E. Brown Sr. in Hannibal, Missouri. They lived in Hannibal, Missouri, Glenwood and Monticello, MN until moving to Lake City in 1972.
Pat and Tom owned and operated Brown's Fairway until their retirement in 1989. Pat then worked for Len Weber at Lakeshore Agency.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church where she was financial secretary for the church and a member of the Mayflower Guild for many years.
She was instrumental in the creation and naming of Pass It On where she also volunteered many hours.
Over the years she was a member of the Lake City Country Club, and the Eastern Star.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards, golfing and volunteering.
Pat is survived by her two sons, Thomas (Faye) Brown Jr. of Lake City, Jess (Gail) Brown of Andover; two daughters, Christie (Duane) Matthees of Red Wing, Kelly (John) Haeska of Lake City; eight grandchildren, Shane (Melissa) Matthees of Goodhue, Jamie (Brady) Kells of Red Wing, Ashley (Andy) Moyer of Plainview, Marisa (Craig Schinter) and Garten Haeska of Lake City, Logan, Graham and Aidan Brown all of Andover; six great-grandchildren, Nash, Nora and Nolan Matthees, Harper and Leighton Kells, and Beckham Moyer; one brother, Arlo "Bobby" Pfahl of Duluth, Minnesota; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, granddaughter McKenna Brown, parents, sister Vivian Lockwood, and five brothers, Willard, James, LeVern, Walt and Roger Pfahl.
A funeral service will be Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at First Congregational Church in Lake City with Reverend David Badgley officiating. Burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday at 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City and one hour prior to the service at the church.
