Orville LeRoy Kinsley

Funeral services for Orville Kinsley will be held Tuesday January 5th at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rochester. The Reverend Nathaniel Schwartz will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville. Mr. Kinsley, 91, of Rochester, died Friday January 1, 2016 at his home. He had been under hospice care.
Orville LeRoy Kinsley was born October 9,1924 in High Forest Township, Olmsted County, the son of Earl and Franna Kinsley. Raised in Olmsted County, he was a graduate of Stewartville High School. Following high school, Orville farmed for a time and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving overseas until he was honorably discharged in 1949. He married Ruth Ann Reinke on June 14, 1952 in Rochester. He was a Mayo Clinic employee for 34 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Orville enjoyed camping, square dancing, woodworking, and reading. He never passed up a good potluck meal, especially those with lots of dessert choices.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ruth Kinsley of Rochester; a daughter, Cindy (Wayne) Haabala of Farwell, Minnesota; a son, Galen "Shorty" (Michelle) Kinsley of Rochester; daughter-in-law, Rose Kinsley of Rochester; six grandchildren, Eric Kinsley and his significant other Kristin, Kevin (Staci) Kinsley, Adam Kinsley and his significant other Tori, Chad Haabala, Kari Haabala and her significant other Brodie, and Beth (Matt) Rosin; two great-grandchildren, Parker and Ava Kinsley; and a sister, Audrey Johnson of Rochester.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Kinsley; a brother, Norbert Kinsley, and Norbert's wife, Verona.
Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the church.
If so desired, memorials may be directed to Seasons Hospice or Trinity Lutheran Church.
