Olive L. Cady

Olive Lucille Cady, 92, of Lake City, died Wed. October 6, 2010 at the Lake City Nursing Home. She was born Oct. 2, 1918 in Preston, MN to Charles and Louise (Kern) Barth and attended country school there. She married Kenneth Cady on Dec. 14, 1941 in Preston and they lived on the family farm. They lived in Preston and Spring Valley until 1953 when they moved to Lake City. She had worked at the Pearl Button Factory, Dairy Treat and the Zero King Coat Factory, where she worked for 25 years until her retirement. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilting and baking.
She is survived by 2 children, Ken (Ellen) Cady of LaCrosse and Pam Robbins of Lake City; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died May 3, 1992; 7brothers; 4 sisters and 3 grandchildren.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel with Rev. Dennis Valleau officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery.
