Olga E. Jonas, 91, of Red Wing, died Friday, December 7, 2007 at the Fairview Seminary Home. She was born November 9, 1916 in Goodhue County to Claus and Lydia (Muhlmann) Jonas. She attended rural public school and Hay Creek Parochial School. For 26 years, she was employed at St. John's Hospital as a physical therapy aide and nursing assistant. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and its ladies' guild, altar guild, and for many years she organized the funeral luncheons.
She is survived by six siblings, Raymond Jonas of Red Wing, Evelyn Fraser of Osakis, Minn., Berdelle (Frederick) Holmstadt of Lake City, Erwin (Audrey) Jonas of Red Wing, Donald (Marcella) Jonas and Duane (Marilyn) Jonas both of Goodhue; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Harold, Burnett, Arnold and Marvin.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church with Reverend Loren Lucht officiating. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Hay Creek. Visitation will be 4-7pm Monday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials preferred to St. John's Lutheran Church or School.
