Norman Meyer

Norman Clarence Meyer, 76, Red Wing, died at his residence on Monday morning. He was born November 16, 1931 in Lake City, the son of Clarence and Anna (Brock) Meyer. He attended one room country schools in Florence Township. The family moved to a farm in Welch in the early 1950's, where he farmed with his dad. He married Elizabeth Johnson on March 12, 1958 in Frontenac. They moved to Red Wing in 1959 and he worked for Riedell's from 1959 to 1998. He enjoyed going to auctions and collecting Red Wing Pottery.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; two sons, Robert (Johanna) Meyer of Rochester and Richard (Barbara) Meyer of Prescott; two daughters, Mary (Phillip) Scafidi of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and Rose (Tom) Poss of Lake City; seven grandchildren, Joshua and David Scafidi, Matthew, Carl, Lane and Scott Meyer and Natalie Poss; one sister, Marvel Holden of Red Wing; two brothers, Harold Meyer of Miesville and Loyd "Bucky" Meyer of Red Wing and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Melvin Meyer.

Memorial service will be 2 p. m. Friday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Karen Pahl officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p. m. Thursday and for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to donor's choice.
