Nora Dagmar Emerson, 93, of Red Wing, died Monday at Fairview Seminary Home. She was born on January 18, 1913 in Kittson County, Richardville Township, Minnesota to Nels and Karin (Kjellgren) Hanson. She attended schools in Kittson County. On March 16, 1936 she married William Emerson in Orleans, Minnesota. They moved to Red Wing in 1952, where she worked many years at Ben Franklin. From 1978 until February 1990 they lived in Texas. William died on May 4, 1991. She was a member of First Covenant Church and enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking and the love of her family. Survivors include two sons, Dennis (Kaye) Emerson of Milledgeville, Georgia and Calvin (Jackie) Emerson of Farmington; 18 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Carbone of Seattle, Washington and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Dale Emerson; one daughter, JoAnne Meyer; three brothers, Hjalmer, Oscar and Earl Hanson and one sister, Bertha Hanson. Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Covenant Church with Rev. Tim Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Burnside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim, Matthew, Michael, Brian and Mark Emerson and Richard Meyer. Honorary pallbearer will be Nathanael Emerson. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and at the church for one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to the church
