The funeral mass for Nhut Ngoc Vo will be held Monday August 23rd at 11:00 AM at Pax Christi Catholic Church in Rochester. The Reverend Joseph Keefe will officiate. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Vo, 83, of Rochester, died Wednesday August 18, 2010 surrounded by his family at home.
Nhut Ngoc Vo was born April 20, 1927 in Soctrang, Vietnam. After middle school he went to work in Cambodia. In 1949 he married Mung Thi Nguyen. They had twelve children. Mr. Vo and his family moved back to Vietnam in 1970, and emigrated to the United States of America in July 1993. During his lifetime he was a very devoted father and grandfather. He enjoyed all of the family gatherings. He will be deeply missed by his wife, twelve children, nineteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Mung Thi Nguyen of Rochester; his son, Dam (Van Nguyen) Vo of Rochester, daughter, Nhan (Tung) Nguyen of Rochester, daughter, Tung (Sung Nguyen) Vo of Rochester, daughter, Ha Vo of Rochester, son, Long (Thuy) Nguyen of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, daughter, Chi (John) Bowman of Corpus Christi, Texas, daughter, Van (Xuan Nguyen) Vo of Rochester, daughter, Nhung (Bruce) Nedland of Rochester, daughter, Dao (Peter Pham) Vo of Houston, Texas, daughter, Thanhle Thi (Cua) Nguyen of Houston, Texas, son, Trung (Xuan) Vo of Rochester, and son, Linh (Donna) Vo of Austin, Texas; his grandchildren, grandson Danh Thanh Vo, granddaughter Nha Thi Thanh Vo, grandson Lan The Nguyen, grandson Anthony Nguyen, granddaughter Thao Pham, grandson Quoc Dang Nguyen, granddaughter An-Hoa Nguyen, grandson Ngoc-Duy Nguyen, grandson Ngoc-Bao Nguyen, granddaughter Ngoc-Tram Nguyen, granddaughter Ngoc-Uyen Nguyen, granddaughter Ann Pham, granddaughter Amy Pham, grandson Huy Nguyen, granddaughter Julie Nguyen, grandson Tin Vo, grandson Tait Vo, grandson Daniel Vo, and granddaughter Lilian Vo; and his great-grandchildren, great-granddaughter Nha-Linh Vo, and great-grandson Noah Jorge Nguyen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father Thanh Ngoc Vo, and mother Choi Thi Nguyen; and a son, Lam Thanh Vo.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Rochester Chapel, and the visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
