Neale R. Sheppard
Neale "Shep" Sheppard, 89, of Pine Island died Thursday, July 02, 2009 at the Zumbrota Care Center. Neale Robert Sheppard was born December 18, 1919 in Milton Township to Joseph and Laura (Arnold) Sheppard. He grew up in rural Mantorville where he attended country school and farmed with his father. On June 17, 1942 he married Dorothy Eberhart in Rochester. They farmed with his parents for a short time before he began working for Leitzen Concrete where he was truck driver for 42 years. He was a member of United Methodist. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Neale is survived by his wife, Dorothy "Dort" Sheppard of Pine Island; daughter, Shari (Lloyd) Archer of Pine Island; five grandchildren, Michael (Sharon) Archer, Lori (Marty) Hoffmann, Bob Archer, Roger Archer, and Michelle (Darin) Cook; six great-grandchildren, Nicole (Kyle) Hofschulte, Nathan, Breanna Hitchcock, Tony and Mary Archer, Connor McKenzie; eight step-great grandchildren; two step great great-grandchildren; brother, Howard (Doris) Sheppard of Big Fork, MN; sister Clara Henry McGowan of Pine Island. He was preceded in death by sisters, Mavis Keilen, Irene Houghton, Lois Salley, Iris Scheisser; brothers, Herbert, Floyd, and Marvin Sheppard.
Memorial service will be 1p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at United Methodist Church in Pine Island with Reverend Greg Strunk officiating. Burial will be at Pine Island Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday July 6, 2009 at United Methodist Church in Pine Island and one hour prior to the service at the church. Mahn Family Funeral Home ? Mahler Chapel is handling the arrangements. Memorials are preferred to the family
