Nathalie N. Kohn

Nathalie ‘Nat' Norma Kohn, age 93, was called back home on February 28, 2017 in Red Wing.

Nat was born July 26, 1923 in Red Wing, MN, along with her twin brother, Milton, to John and Helen (Plote) Possehl. She was baptized on August 26, 1923 in Wells Creek Township and later confirmed on August 2, 1936. She attended Red Wing High School and graduated May 29, 1942. She married Charles ‘Chuck' Kohn on October 11, 1947 at West Florence Church in rural Lake City. They farmed in Florence Township but later moved to Red Wing. Chuck passed away on January 3, 1986. In 2008, she moved to Jordan Towers and later to St. Brigid's Assisted Living Apartments in 2012.

Nat was a homemaker and loved being with family and all her friends. She always greeted you with the biggest hug! She loved keeping all sort of records. She had taught herself to type so she could help Chuck at his office, Kohn Insurance Agency. They both loved to travel throughout the US as well as abroad. Nat was part of a Card Club and had bowled in a league for a number of years. She volunteered at the St. John's Hospital Auxiliary for 35 years, joined St. John's Ladies Aid for also 35 years and was an usher at the Sheldon Theater in downtown Red Wing for 16 years. She was an active member with the St. John's Church, Red Wing.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Janette Benson, of Rochester, MN; Niece and nephews, Virginia Carr of Mankato, MN, Barb Schafer and Deb Tennis, both of Rochester, MN; Kathy (Brian) Godby of Leicestershire, England; Judy (Don) Siewert of Frontenac, MN; Kevin Possehl of Lake City; Denise (Rick) Landau of Old Frontenac; Steve Possehl of Goodhue, MN. She had many great nieces and nephews.

Proceeding her in death were her husband, Chuck; sister and brother-in-law, Liz and Maynard Fitschen; Infant sister, Erma Possehl; brother and sister-in-law, Milton and Elaine Possehl; nephews Curt Fitschen and Gary Fitschen; niece, Carol Fitschen.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 5 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Red Wing, with Reverend Peter Sternberg officiating. Burial will be in the St. John's Cemetery in Lake City, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to St. John's Lutheran School or the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
