Natalie "Nat" Meyer age 76 of Lake City died Friday June 29, 2007 at her home.
Natalie was born July 13, 1930 to Adolph & Ivaline (Berg) Ofstie in Zumbrota, Minnesota. Nat graduated from Zumbrota High School in 1948. She married Burton J. Meyer August 27, 1950 in Zumbrota. They then farmed in Mount Pleasant Township in Wabasha County from 1950 to 1981. In 1981 they retired and moved to Lake City. Burton died November 8, 1985. She worked at Peterson Sheehan Hardware, Coast to Coast and the Ben Franklin store in Lake City. She also worked as the Bethany Lutheran Church Secretary. Nat was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church of Lake City and the church Ladies Aid, Choir and she also taught Sunday school for many years. She also was a 4H leader, NFO member, a member of the Minnesota Jersey Cattle Club and an Honorary Member of the FFA.
She is survived by four sons, Kenneth (Ruth) of Lake City, Curtis (Donna) of Lake City, Charles (Cheryl) of Chatfield, James (Patricia) of Lake City; one daughter, Mary (Darwyn) Tri of Mazeppa; 13 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; one brother Robert (Janet) Ofstie of Zumbrota; and one sister in-law Elaine Ofstie of Zumbrota. She was preceded in death by her husband; a grandson Derek Tri and a brother Alton Ofstie.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am at St. Peter's Belvidere Lutheran Church with the Rev. Bruce Stam officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 8 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday. Memorials are preferred to the Perpetual Care at St. Peter's Belvidere Cemetery, Ark of Bethany or the Bethany Church.
