Nancy Theis

Nancy M. Theis, 78, of Red Wing, passed away at Mayo Clinic Health System, St. Mary's Campus. She was born on November 19, 1946, in Red Wing to Naomi (Swanson) and Marshall Welt. She graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1964. Nancy married Wayne Theis June 4, 1966, and began growing their family in Red Wing. They had two children Shelley and Chad Theis, and would take family vacations, a tradition Shelley and Chad continued whenever schedules aligned. Nancy worked various jobs around Red Wing in her life, but retired from Jostens as an office administrator. Nancy had a particular love of camping and campfires; she could be found sitting by a fire on summer nights. She also enjoyed going to the casino and word searches.

Nancy is survived by her husband Wayne; children, Shelley, and Chad (Sandy Tomhave) Theis; siblings, Lee Qualle of Red Wing, MN, David Welt of St. Paul, MN, Bruce (Coleen) Welt of Red Wing, MN, Steve (Linda) Welt of Bloomington, MN, and Pamela (Patrick) Raley of Colorado Springs, CO.; and sister-in-law, Mari Lou Welt of Cannon Falls, MN.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, LaVonne Fritzke; and brother, Larry Welt.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2025 at United Lutheran Church. A visitation will held be one hour prior.
