Nancy Jean (Fossum) Menth, 85, passed away peacefully in her sleep, on July 3, 2020 at Zumbrota Health Care Center.
Nancy was born in Red Wing on May 25, 1935, to Neils and Gjertina "Tina" (Berg) Fossum. She was a graduate of Zumbrota High School; she also attended the University of Minnesota and completed some college courses. Nancy worked as an instructor at the Rochester Vo-Tech in the Dental Hygienist Program.
Nancy enjoyed old time dancing her entire life. At the time of her retirement, she also did more traveling and began a new hobby, china painting.
She is preceded in death by: husband Chester Menth (2009), her parents; Gjertina (Tina) Fossum Smith and Neils Berthran Fossum, siblings; Doris (George) Rossi, Novel "Sonny" (Elda) Fossum, Elaine (Robert) Heinz, niece; Susan (Ray) Sands, nephews; John Rossi and Neil Rossi.
She is survived by her niece; Katherine "Kay" (William) Howard, nephews; Robert Fossum, Hal (Melodee) Rossi, James (Denise) Heinz, four step-children, and many grand/great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to thank the Zumbrota Health Care Center for the exceptional care of Nancy.
A memorial service for Nancy is planned for Wednesday, July 15, at The Redeemer Lutheran Church in Zumbrota. Services will begin at 2 pm, and Rev. Dr. Marggi Pleiss-Sippola officiating.
It is mandatory that masks be worn at this service. Also, due to the Covid 19 epidemic, social distancing is expected.
