Nancy Ann Eckholm, 81, of Rochester, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 19, 2020, at Edenbrook of Rochester.
Nancy was born on February 6, 1939, in Red Wing, MN to Floyd and Dorothy (Johnson) Johnson. She graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1957 where she received an All Star Award for achieving the honor of All Star Commercial Student. She worked at Frederick and Kemp. She married Edward Peter “Pete” Eckholm on September 20, 1958. She worked at Goodhue National Bank. They moved to Rochester in 1965. Once her children were in school, Nancy worked in the Rochester Public School District as a secretary at several different schools. Once her children graduated from high school, she worked at Marquette Bank, First Bank and the Mayo Clinic Credit Union until her retirement. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. She was a member of their quilting group for several years. Nancy enjoyed quilting, knitting, spending weekends at the lake and reading. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughters.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Pete Eckholm of Rochester, MN; two children, Patra (Scott) Baker of Rochester, MN and Paul (Renee) Eckholm of Savage, MN; grandchildren, Joshua (Jenni) Baker of Rochester, MN, Kjersti Baker of Anthem, AZ, Kaija Eckholm of Savage, MN, and Logan Eckholm of Savage, MN; great-granddaughters, Taycie and Isla of Rochester, MN; one sister, Reta Anderson of Rockford, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Neal Larson; brother-in-law, Warren “Andy” Anderson; nephews Jeff Larson and Jerry Larson; and her in-laws, Roy “Farmer” and Gladys Eckholm.
Nancy did not want any type of service, so to abide by her wishes a visitation will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, 602 Plum Street, Red Wing, MN. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery with Reverend Dana Jackson officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to Seasons Hospice in Rochester, MN or the Alzheimer’s Association.
