Myra Norma Reitan

Myra Reitan, 90, of Red Wing, died Thursday, April 7, 2011 at her home. She was born Feb. 7, 1921, in Fessenden, North Dakota to Edward and Emma (Pepple) Rudel. She attended school in Fessenden, graduating in 1939. She married Gaylord Reitan on Feb. 10, 1948. He passed away in 1997. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, VFW & Legion Auxiliaries and the Hospital Auxiliary. She had retired from Red Wing Shoe Company in 1986. She enjoyed reading, knitting and playing Scrabble with her grandchildren.

She is survived by 2 children, Gary Reitan and Debra (Steven) Derleth both of
Red Wing; 3 grandsons, Christian & Ryan Derleth and Lucas (Megan) Reitan; granddaughter, Amanda Reitan; great-grandchildren, Gage, Sophia, Blake, Cody and Hayden, and one great-grandchild due in May. Also survived by 2 brothers, Norman (Norma) Rudel of Fessenden and Arlyn (Doris) of Rapid City. She was preceded in death by her husband and 3 brothers, Howard, Chester and Dennis Rudel.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Greg Strunk officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service to the church. Memorials preferred to the church. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
