Myra Julia Koch, 88, Red Wing, died Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at Fairview Seminary Home. She was born November 13, 1919 in Elgin, MN, the daughter of Elmer and Clara (Neumann) Petrich. She was a graduate of Plainview High School. She married Charles Arthur Koch on May 22, 1943 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Red Wing. She worked for 32 years at Red Wing Shoe Company, retiring in 1981. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and she enjoyed puzzles, reading and playing cards, especially cribbage.
Survivors include her husband, Charles A. Koch, Sr. of Red Wing; one son, Charles (Priscilla Clayton) Koch, Jr. of Golden Valley; two grandchildren, Miriam Clayton and Elliot Koch; two sisters, Jeanette (Jerry) Schauer of Cross Lake, MN and Eunice Reeve of Red Wing; and two nieces. She was preceded in death by one brother, Allen Petrich.
Funeral will be 1:30 p. m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church with Reverend Glen Holland officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Friday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and on Saturday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the church.
