Mung Thi Nguyen
December 31, 1928 — September 26, 2015
Mung Nguyen, age 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday September 26, 2015 at home, surrounded by her beloved family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday October 2nd at 11:30 AM Pax Christi Catholic Church in Rochester. The celebrant will be The Reverend Joseph Fogal. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Mung Thi Nguyen was born December 31, 1928 in Cambodia. She married Nhut Vo in 1949, and they had twelve children. Mrs. Nguyen and her family and her family moved back to Vietnam in 1970 and emigrated to the United States of America in July 1993. During her lifetime she was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending her time with her family, especially on weekends and holidays. She will be deeply missed by her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her sons, Dam (Van Nguyen) Vo of Rochester, Long (Thuy) Nguyen of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Trung (Xuan) Vo of Rochester, and Linh (Donna) Vo of Austin, Texas; daughters, Nhan (Tung) Nguyen of Rochester, Tung (Sung Nguyen) Vo of Rochester, Ha Vo of Rochester, Chi (John) Bowman of Corpus Christi, Texas, Van (Xuan Nguyen) Vo of Rochester, Nhung (Bruce) Nedland of Rochester, Dao (Peter Pham) Vo of Houston, Texas, and Thanh Le (Cua) Nguyen of Montgomery, Texas. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Rochester Chapel. A prayer service will be said at 5:30 PM. The visitation will continue 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
If so desired, memorials may be directed to Mayo Hospice. Online tributes are being welcomed, and may be written at this website.
