Mitchell W. Staiger

Mitchell Wayne Staiger, 46, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, died Monday, November 30, 2009 after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. He was born April 23, 1963, in Red Wing, Minnesota, to Harold and Alice (Brunette) Staiger and attended school in Red Wing. After high school he attended Brown Institute in Minneapolis. He worked as an engineering technician at Rosemount, Inc. until he was no longer able to, due to his MS. He moved to Eau Claire in 2004. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, following the Green Bay Packers, playing fantasy football, spending time on the computer, and tinkering with electronic gadgets.

Mitchell is survived by his sister, Dixie (John) Graupman of Eden Prairie, Minn. and brother, Mikel Staiger of Denver, Colorado, and two nieces, Sarah and Emily.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Steven.

Memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Chuck Friemel officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials preferred to the National MS Society.
