Milton Otto Mandelkow, Jr, 72, of Red Wing, died Sunday May 19, 2013 at St. Bridgid's at Hi-Park. He was born January 12, 1941 to Milton and Marion (Bryant) Mandelkow in Red Wing. Milton attended country schools and later went to high school in Cannon Falls. He worked at the Belle Creek Creamery and Feed Store in Miesville, Minn. delivering grain and feed. In Red Wing, he worked at the Tannery and Durkee Atwood. Later he drove a grain truck for Earl Almquist until he retired in 2010. Milton enjoyed playing cards, watching TV, going to flea markets and to Treasure Island.
He is survived by three sisters, Mary Mandelkow of Red Wing, Marge (Willis Buck) Deden of Red Wing and Marsha Ketel of Red Wing; one cousin who was like a brother, Maurice (Donna) Alms of Red Wing as well as three aunts and several other cousins.
Milton is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Randy Ketel; and his aunts and uncles.
A Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn chapel with Pastor Kristen Schlauderaff officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Burnside Cemetery in Red Wing.
