Mildred J. Schmidt, age 87 of Plainview, MN passed away on Monday, March 29, 2010 at St. Isidore Health Care Center in Plainview.
Mildred was born July 27, 1922 in Eden Valley, MN to Henry and Anna (Hansen) Cotton. She attended school in Lake City, MN. On July 17, 1941 she married William Schmidt at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lake City, MN. They farmed the family farm on Pepin Hill, in Lake Township rural Lake City, MN. They then moved to Rochester, MN where she worked for Telex in Rochester for 32 years. William passed away May 23, 2009.
She is survived by; two daughters, JoAnn Broten of Rochester, MN, Judy Berg of Wabasha, MN; one son, Robert (Mary Beth Kronschnabel) Schmidt of St. Paul, MN; six grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren; one sister Shirley Sprick of Bay City, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters, and three brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lake City, MN on Monday, April 5, 2010 at 1:00 PM with Father Richard Dernek officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Lake City. Pallbearers will be Lance Broten, Scott Broten, Adam Broten, Nicholas Neeland, Hannah Neeland, and Scott Swain. Friends may call one hour before the service at the church. Arrangements were handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City.
