Mildred Albold, 91, of Red Wing, short-time resident of Fairview Seminary Home, died Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at the Fairview Seminary Home. She was born December 14, 1918 to William and Agnes Icasson (Boles). She attended schools in Red Wing. Mildred and Walter Albold were married in September of 1938. They resided in Red Wing. She enjoyed knitting and had taught knitting classes at night. She also enjoyed camping with Walter. After his retirement they spent time in "The Valley" in Texas.
She is survived by her four children, Walter "Bill" (Carol) Albold of Monticello, Tom (Rene) Albold of Blaine, Kenneth (Cheryl) Albold of Hastings, and Kathy Duncan of Newport; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren, and close family friend and neighbor, Marilyn Lecy. She is preceded in death by her husband; one brother, Harold; sister, Grace Swenberg, and one great-grandson, Jacob Bradish.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 1, 2010 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be 9 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Burnside Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the American Diabetes Association and the American Stroke Association.
