Michael Troy Larson, 51, of Red Wing, died Thursday, April 9, 2020, peacefully at his home after a two and a half year battle with Multiple Myeloma. He was born April 12, 1968, in Red Wing, to Robert M. and Judith (Lane) Larson and graduated from Red Wing Central High School, class of 1986. He worked at Big Wheel Auto and Riviera Cabinets before starting at SB Foot Tanning Company, where he was employed for 26 years until his retirement in November 2018, due to his illness. Mike was united in marriage to Kimberly Nelson on April 23, 1994 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Mike was a part of the Borderline 4X4 Trailseekers Club and enjoyed four wheeling, camping, riding motorcycle, and spending time with family and friends. He had a gift of telling stories and making people laugh, and it was a gift he shared freely. He also had a huge heart, always willing to help both friends and strangers in need and wanting nothing in return. "Mikey" was truly one of a kind.
He is survived by his wife, Kim; siblings, Laura (Guy) Wentz and Shannon (Philip) Baertschi both of Calif., Robert (Denise) Larson of Red Wing and Christopher (Tammy) Larson of Bigfork, MN; many nieces and nephews; father and mother-in-law, Robert and Constance Nelson of Red Wing and 2 sisters-in-law, Christine (Tim) Redding of Wheeler, WI and Teresa (John) Orr of Elkader, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Clint.
Mike was able to enjoy time with his family and friends prior to his passing and had requested that no services be held. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and online condolences may be sent to the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
