Mignon Moffatt age 92 of Lake City and longtime resident of San Antonio, TX passed away Friday March 31, 2017 in Lake City.
Mignon was born March 13, 1925 in Dallas, TX to Alvis and Bernice (Dikert) Perry. She grew up in San Antonio, TX and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1943. Mignon married William "Red" Moffatt June 17, 1943. They made their home in San Antonio where they raised their four children. She was very active in Concordia Lutheran Church in San Antonio and the Girl Scouts. She enjoyed sewing, playing bridge and most of all spending time with her family and friends. William "Red" passed away in 1981. In the early 60's Mignon and William became friends with Paul and Beverly Meyer. After the loss of both of their spouse, Mignon and Paul started a new chapter in each of their lives together. In 1998 she moved to Lake City. She was a member of St. Peters Belvidere Lutheran church and several other social groups in Lake City.
Mignon is survived by her longtime partner and soulmate, Paul Meyer of Lake City; son, William (Shanon) Moffatt of Ladera Ranch, CA; daughters, Jyl (Johnny) Brink of San Antonio, TX and Jinx Chiles of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Allison Brennan, Shanell Pierce, Brett and Ashley Chiles, Amber Cunningham, Kelli Harris, Tiffani and Brittani Schlameus; 16 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alvis and Bernice; daughter Judi Kennedy.
A memorial service will be held April 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Peters Belvidere Lutheran Church with the Rev. Scott Fiege officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service at the church. Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.
