Michael Bruce Marklevits, 57, of Hanford, California, died, Saturday, May 29, 2010 in California. He was born October 20, 1952 in Red Wing to David and Janet (Goldsmith) Marklevits. After graduating from Red Wing Central High School, he enlisted in the US Navy on Oct. 9, 1970 and served during the Vietnam War, receiving the Medal of Honor. On January 29, 1976, he served a mission in California for the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. He married Robin Smith in 1977 and they later divorced.
He is survived by his children, Ronald and Jaymie Marklevits; 2 grandsons, Mason and Logan; his parents, Dave and Janet of Red Wing; 2 brothers, David (Mary) and Terry (Julie) both of Red Wing; sister, Beth (Rob) Scrimshaw; 14 nieces and nephews; and 2 aunts, Beverly (Jerry) Radkey of Beldenville, Wisc. and Joan (James) Beagle of Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a nephew, Connor.
