Michael "Mick" Gartner

Michael “Mick” Gregory Gartner, Jr. died Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at his home in Welch. He was born February 16, 1975 in St. Paul to Michael and Marjorie (Hacker) Gartner, Sr. He grew up in St. Paul until his family moved to Welch. He attended Red Wing Central High School and the Alternative School. He worked for Aspelund and then TruSeal in Burnsville where he worked for 17 years. He married Barbara Ellefson on August 26, 2005 and together they had two children, Bailey and Briar. They later divorced but have always remained close. Mick enjoyed hunting and fishing and believed in conservation. He also helped his dad raise pigeons and he enjoyed rescuing injured animals and restoring them to health.

He is survived by his children, Bailey and Briar and their mother, Barbara; father, Michael (Lois) Gartner, Sr. of Atwater, Minn.; stepbrother, Rod (Michelle)Waller; stepsister, Cori (Marc) Myer; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Marjorie & Al Waller.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
