Michael Christopher Garrick, 23, of Dennison, died unexpectedly at his home on May 11, 2015. The son of Brent and Terri Garrick, he was born and grew up in Red Wing. He moved with his family to the Dennison area in 2006 before graduating from Fairbault High School. He worked for R & G Enterprise selling Kirby Vacuums. Michael was a generous and giving young man. Growing up, he would often fall behind in his chores at home because he was busy helping the neighbors with theirs. He loved to fish and even if he didn't catch anything, he was content to just be fishing. Michael enjoyed golf and was an avid gamer, amassing an enviable collection of gaming systems. Michael loved to learn new things. He grew up watching the History Channel and the nightly news and was always excited to talk about the things he learned. He was developing a talent for learning new languages, including Karen and Spanish. Michael studied the Bible on his own and kept his faith close to his heart. Most of all, Michael loved his family and was proud to be a part of such a large, loving family.
Michael will be missed by many, including his parents, Brent and Terri Garrick of Dennison; his three siblings, Ginny, Ben and Katie; grandparents, Donna Garrick of Hastings and Al and Reta Thorne of Gratztown, Penn; the love of his life, Ser Ser; several aunts and uncles, numerous cousins, other family and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Dwaine Garrick.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, May 16, 2015 at New River Assembly of God with Rev. Mark Kalb officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2015 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and one hour prior to the service at church.
