Michael Fischer

Michael Paul Anthony Fischer, 87, of Rochester, MN went to be with the Lord on September 29, 2023, with his loving wife by his side. He was born August 12, 1936. He went to Mayo High School. Michael married the love of his life Darlene Jeanette Timm on August 12, 1958, in Byron, MN. They were blessed with 6 children. He had a strong Christian faith.
Michael joined the Army in 1952. He had many different occupations, but his favorite was making custom fishing rods. In his free time, he loved to go camping and fishing, hunting and conducted many guided fishing trips to Lake Winnibigoshish, Big Lake, in MN and Branson, MO. He also spent his free time with the grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
He will be missed by his children, Son, Mark Fischer (Kelly); Daughters, Mary Behnken of Byron, MN, Ida Mae Banks of Royalton, MN, Belinda Stroebel of Byron, MN, Penny Wilson (Mark) of Elkton, MN. 12 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers; 2 sisters; son; grandson; 3 sons-in-laws and a daughter-in-law.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mahn Family Funeral Home - Rochester Chapel. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2023 with an hour of visitation prior at Midwest Bible Baptist Church in Rochester. Michael will be inurned at Minnesota State Veneterans Cemetery in Preston, MN.
