Michael `Chopper` Alms

OBITUARY NOTICE MICHAEL ?CHOPPER? ALMS Michael Edward ?Chopper? Alms, 57, of Red Wing, died Tuesday at his home. He was born November 17, 1948 in Red Wing, to Leonard and Dorothy ?Dode? (Klitzke) Alms and attended Red Wing Central High School. He was employed with Red Wing Shoe and then entered the U.S. Army in 1966, serving in the Vietnam War, until he was honorably discharged in 1969. He was self-employed for many years installing sheet rock and dry walling. He enjoyed listening to music, sports and current events. He is survived by three brothers, Daniel, Greg (Lois) and Tim (Kathy) Alms all of Red Wing and four nieces and nephews, Emily, Pete, Nicole and Matthew. His parents preceded him in death. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Friday, July 7 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson Mahn Chapel with a prayer service at 6 p.m. and burial to follow at St. John?s Cemetery.
