Maynard Wright, 85, of Red Wing, died Saturday, February 29, 2020. He was born May. 1, 1934 to James and Ruby (Bluhm) Wright. He attended grades 1 through 6 at Jacksonville County School and then moved to Lake City where he graduated from Lincoln High School. On May 7th 1955 Maynard married his high school sweetheart, Jeanette Boll and moved to Red Wing. He worked many jobs including Jorgensen's Chevrolet, High Park Dairy, Sinclair Refining Company, drove bus for Lee Line Bus Company for 40 years and worked with the Red Wing Police Department for 21 years until retirement. He enjoyed traveling to Florida to be with his son, Kevin, and going to Weslaco, Texas over the winter months. Maynard loved camping, wood working and watching WWE on pay-per-view.
He is survived by his Wife of 64 years, Jeanette; children, Kathy Wright and Kevin (Jennifer) Wright; grandchildren, Mallory West and Heather (Jesse) Wartner; great-grandchildren, Josiah, Jacob and Justin; step-grandchildren, Tom (Kristin) Martin, Chris Martin, Dan (Cam) Martin and Erin (Chris) Kjos; 10 step-great-grandchildren and 3 step-great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by parents; son, Randy Wright; siblings Marlyn Wright and Geneva Kohrs; step-great-grandchild Cody Martin.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Pastor Katie Matson-Daley officiating.
