OBITUARY: Maxine Elaine "Mickey" Voeltz

Funeral services for Maxine Elaine "Mickey" Voeltz will be at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mazeppa with Reverend Alan Horn officiating. Casketbearers will be Dennis Reeve, Todd Reeve, Mike Voeltz, Shawn Voeltz, Brian Voeltz, Tanner Voeltz and Hayden Marsh. Music will be provided by Marla Tupper, organist. Burial will follow in the Mazeppa Cemetery.

Mickey, age 83, of Mazeppa died on Thursday, January 10, 2008 at her residence. She was born on April 17, 1924 in Grand Meadow, MN to Otto and Viola (Kath) Ellinghuysen. She attended country school and on June 27, 1944 she married Ernest Voeltz at Pleasant Valley Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Following their marriage, the couple farmed around the Grand Meadow area until 1960 when they moved to the Mazeppa area. Mickey worked at the Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island and also was a waitress at Fogarty's Resort in Oronoco. Ernest died on July 26, 1988. Mickey remained in Mazeppa until her death. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the Zumbro Falls VFW Auxiliary and the Mazeppa Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed gambling, Twins baseball and traveling.

Mickey is survived by four sons: Douglas, of Rochester, MN, Gerald, of Mazeppa, MN, Wesley (Mary), of Zumbrota, MN, Ron, of Mesa, AZ; two daughters: Nancy Reeve, of Plainview, MN, Pamela (Jeff) Fehrenkamp, of Palm Coast, FL; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two brothers: Glen Ellinghuysen and Donald Ellinghuysen and two sisters: Gladys Carroll and Jane Herrick, all of Stewartville, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Danny and one great granddaughter, Kelsey.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
