Maxine LaVonne Morgan, 84, formerly of Red Wing, died Thursday, July 25, 2013 at a hospice home in Brooklyn Park, MN. She was born on July 14, 1929 in Plum City, WI, to Howard and Evelyn (Johnson) Pearson. She graduated high school from Maiden Rock and earned her Bachelor's Degree at River Falls, WI. On June 18, 1955, Maxine married Chauncey "Sonny" Morgan at Maiden Rock. She taught 1st and 2nd grade in Beloit, WI and in Red Wing at Washington and Hancock schools starting in 1951 and retiring in 1987. Maxine was a member of First United Methodist Church in Red Wing. She enjoyed spending time with friends, family, and her dog, Ashley, playing cards and collecting postcards and magnets.
Maxine is survived by her two daughters, Julie Morgan of Plymouth, MN and Holly (Steve) Roy of Champlin, MN, a sister, Joyce (Donald) Lamberg of Ellsworth, and a niece, Karen Woehrle of Ellsworth, WI.
Maxine is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband "Sonny".
Memorial services for Maxine will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Rev. Greg Strunk officiating. Burial will be at Maiden Rock Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Memorials preferred to Maxine's family.
