Maxine J. Clementson age 69 of Pine Island died on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Seasons Hospice in Rochester after a courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, January 18, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Rev's Susan Vikstrom and John Underdahl officiating. Burial will be in United Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, January 17, 2010 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and on Monday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Maxine Jean Underdahl was born on June 4, 1940 to Hans and Bertina (Jacobson) Underdahl at her parent's home. She grew up and lived in Sogn Valley. In 1959 she graduated from Cannon Falls High School. Maxine attended a business school and became a manager at Casey's General Store. After Casey's, she was a store manager at Fannie Farmer Candies for six years. She recently had been working as a blackjack dealer at Mystic Lake Casino, until retiring due to health problems.
On December 19, 1959 she married Bruce C. Clementson. They had three sons, Scott, Reed and Paul. They were later divorced in April of 1989.
In addition to her three sons, she helped raise her nephew Greg Johnson.
Maxine enjoyed cooking, being with her family and grandchildren, watching the Minnesota Vikings and American Idol, the occasional trip to the casino and loved being "Gigi".
Maxine is survived by her sons, Scott (Robyn) Clementson, Reed Clementson and Paul (Dawn) Clementson and nephew, Greg (Sherry) Johnson all of Pine Island, nine grandchildren, Kiley (Travis), Tara (TC), Steven, Shaun (Missy), Brady, Logan, Cassie, Samantha and Conrad, two great grandchildren, Addison and Kolten and one more on the way, her siblings, LuVerne Underdahl of Outing, MN, Ilene Johnson of Northfield, MN, Jerry (Maureen) Underdahl of Apple Valley, MN Barbara (Gene) Rutherford of Bakersfield, CA, Brice (Violet) Underdahl of Boise, ID, Shirley Westerfield of Lancaster, CA and Reverend John (Nancy) Underdahl of Niceville, FL, and many nieces and nephews.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Hans and Bertina and three nephews, Gary, Matthew and Dane.
Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
