Maurice F. Weinrich

May 1, 1947 — June 11, 2016

Maurice Franklin Weinrich, 69, of Lake City, passed away to his heavenly home on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Lake City. He was born May 1, 1947, in Rochester, to Herbert and Melva (Moyer) Weinrich, Jr. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City in 1965, and went on to attend Rochester Community College. He worked on the family farm until taking a job at Di-Acro where he worked as a machinist. On May 1, 1982, he was united in marriage to Cynthia Prescott at Christ United Methodist Church in Rochester and they made their home and farmed in Lake Township. After Di-Acro closed, he worked for Wabasha County as a DHIA supervisor until 1987. He then worked for Federal Mogul as a machinist until his retirement in 2013. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where he had served as an elder and usher. Maurice enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, his IH machinery, trips to Northern Minnesota, time spent around the campfire with family and friends, reading and visiting with people no matter where he was. He had a kind heart and possessed a wonderful memory. He was there to lend a helping hand no matter what the situation and was always willing teach others how to fix it. He wore the hat of a farmer, mechanic, plumber and electrician-a jack of all trades.
A loving and Christian husband, father and grandfather, he will be dearly missed by his wife, Cynthia of Lake City; 3 children, Kaleb and Jordan Weinrich and Sara (Zane) Hayden all of Lake City; 2 grandchildren, Tavian and Wyatt Weinrich; brother, Steven (Deborah) Weinrich of Lake City; mother-in-law, Angeline Prescott of Lake City; brother-in-law, Carl Moechnig of Hastings and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marilyn Moechnig.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016, at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. John Berg officiating. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson Peterson Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
