Matthew K. Haustein

Matthew Keith Haustein, 22, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008 in Red Wing. He was born November 27, 1985 to Jeffery and Brenda (Necas) Haustein. He attended Red Wing High School and then the Marine Mechanics Institute in Orlando, Florida, graduating in 2007. He moved back to Red Wing and worked at the Wabasha Marina. He enjoyed fishing, four wheeling and all outdoor activities.

He is survived by his parents, Jeff and Brenda of Red Wing; brother, Mitch (Christie Erickson) Haustein of St. Paul; several aunts, uncles and cousins, and a special friend, Katie Jablonske.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joseph Necas and Maxine and Lorene Von Helmst and paternal grandparents, Donald and Hazel Haustein.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of St. Joseph with Father Thomas M. Kommers officiating. Pallbearers will be Richard Meyer, Tim Jilek, Mark Matthees, Gene Tushaus, Patrick Necas and Dave Haustein. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Friday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials preferred.
