Mary Charlotte Walsh

Mary Charlotte Walsh, 94, of Red Wing, died Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Potter Ridge. She was born July 7, 1917 in Joplin, Missouri to William and Beatrice (Simpson) Dwyer. She moved to Faribault with her family and graduated from Faribault High School. On May 30, 1940 she married Martin "Red" Walsh in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. They lived in Faribault for a few years where she worked for Faribault Woolen Mills. In 1946 they moved to Red Wing, where she then worked for National Tea, the City Hospital, and for the City of Red Wing at City Hall. Martin died April 24, 1993. For the past year she has resided at Potter Ridge. She was a member of the Church of St. Joseph in Red Wing and the Hiawatha Club. She enjoyed reading, then listening to books in her later years and traveling, especially by train.

She is survived by four children, Bill (Ruth Ann) Walsh of Lakeside, Calif., Ken (Jackie) Walsh of Red Wing, Bob (Melody) Walsh of Hastings, and Candy (Lanny) Larsen of Hager City; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Pat (Harvey) Kuhlman of Faribault; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Mass of Resurrection will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the Church of St. Joseph with Father Thomas M. Kommers presiding. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at church on Wednesday.
