Mary Ann Smith, age 84, of Red Wing, died Thursday, September 28, 2006, at Fairview Seminary Home. She was born May 24, 1922, in Litchfield, Minnesota, the daughter of Allen and Hazel (Anderson) Curry. She was a 1939 graduate of Litchfield High School and received her Registered Nurse?s degree from St. Cloud Hospital nursing program in 1943. She worked for Physicians and Surgeons Hospital in Glendale, California and for Nicollet Clinic in Minneapolis. She married William Smith on August 4, 1950, in Litchfield. They lived in Trenton, New Jersey, where she worked for RCA in Princeton. In 1955, they moved back to Litchfield to farm and then to Red Wing, where she worked at City Hospital. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School and was in the women?s association; Chapter P of PEO, and the Eastern Star, where she was past grand officer. Survivors include her husband, Bill, of Red Wing, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three siblings, Lorraine Barrick, Bill and Franklin Curry. Memorial Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Novemebr 4, 2006 at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Gary Elg officiating. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Cedar Mills, Minnesota. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.
