Mary Lyn Schwartz, 66, St. Louis Park, Mn died Sunday, December 30, 2007 at the Lake City, MN Nursing Home.

Mary Lyn was born November 17, 1941 at New Ulm, Mn to Roy and Blossom (Renneke) Schwartz of Sleepy Eye, Mn. She graduated from Sleepy Eye High School in 1959. In 1964 she received her B.A. degree in Music from the University of Minnesota. Early on she worked at Schmidt's Music and Larson Industries. Mary battled mental illness all her adult life. She performed volunteer duties with the Society for the Blind, Texas Terrace Nursing Home and Minnetonka Care Center. Singing was her delight and she participated in various church choirs. She was a proficient swimmer and performed with the University's synchronized swim team. Mary celebrated twenty some years as a participant in the Community Involment Program (CIP) and was the first to move into their shared housing on Louisianna Avenue, St. Louis Park.

She is survived by one sister, Lucy (Dr. David) Schwartz Sontag of Lake City, Mn and two brothers, Dr. Kern Schwartz (Jean), Worthington, Mn and Dr. Stuart Schwartz of Tacoma, WA and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister May, brothers Rex M. Schwartz and William R. Schwartz

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, January 4, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sleepy Eye, Mn at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be one hour before the service, Rev Ron Freimark officiating. Burial will be in Home Cemetary, Sleepy Eye. Memorials are suggested to CIP Shared Housing, 1600 Broadway St. NE, Suite #1, Minneapolis, 55413-2617.
