OBITUARY: Mary J. Postier

Mass of Christian Burial for Mary J. Postier will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, December 14, 2007, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Pine Island with Father Timothy Dolan officiating. Casketbearers will be Michael Postier, Travis Postier, Daniel Collett, Gery Wondrow, Laurel Holt and Dennis Beyer. Burial will follow at the Center Grove Cemetery in Douglas, MN.

Mary J. Postier, age 77, of Pine Island died on Monday, December 10, 2007 at the Pine Haven Care Center. She was born Mary Jane Ryan on May 26, 1930, in Hastings, MN to Howard and Margaret (Coen) Ryan. She attended school in Pine Island and on February 25, 1949, she married Russell Wayne Postier in Pine Island. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Douglas where Mary was a homemaker and worked as a postal clerk for the United States Post Office. She did housekeeping at Madonna Towers in Rochester and in 1999 the couple moved to Pine Island. She entered Pine Haven Care Center in 2000. Mary was a lifelong member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing, gardening, bird watching, playing bingo and cards.

She is survived by her husband, Russell Postier; two sons: Steven Postier and David (Debra) Postier, all of Pine Island, MN; three daughters: Joy (James) Alexander and Teresa Postier, all of Rochester, MN and Nancy (Richard) Breen, of Viola, MN; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters: Patricia Christensen, of Pine Island, MN and Gertrude McAtee, of Indianapolis, IN; one brother, Thomas Ryan, of Pine Island, MN. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and two grandsons.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Thursday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Mahler Chapel in Pine Island and one hour before the service at the church on Friday.
