Mary Louise Pelowski, 84, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at St. Mary?s Hospital in Rochester. She was born March 25, 1922 in Winona, Minnesota to Charles N. and Mary (Gould) Dean and was a 1941 graduate of Winona High School. She then worked for her father and brother as a secretary at Winona Tool and later attended Winona State University where she also worked as a secretary for the President of the University while she was a student there. On March 24, 1951, she married Gene Pelowski in Storm Lake, Iowa. They lived in Alma, Wisconsin and Winona and in 1952 they moved to Red Wing. She worked at Hallstrom?s Florist and at the pro-shops of the Red Wing and Ellsworth Country Clubs. She was a member of the Church of St. Joseph, where she sang coloratura soprano in the choir and was a part of the Ladies Christmas Crafts Organization and she was also a member of the American Legion Ladies? Auxiliary She hosted and was a part of a card club and coffee get-togethers. She enjoyed painting and drawing, reading, playing golf and traveling. Survivors include her husband, Gene of Red Wing; three sons, Gene Jr. (Deb) Pelowski of Winona, Reg (Mary) Pelowski of White Bear Lake, Minnesota and Chuck (Carla) Pelowski of Lake City; 4 grandchildren, Gene III (Debra) Pelowski of Plymouth, Ryan Pelowski of Winona, Reg Adam Pelowski and Megan Pelowski both of White Bear Lake; one brother Chuck (Doris) Dean of Rochester and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Dean and two sisters, Lillith Bittner and Dorothy Woodard. Mass of the Resurrection will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2006 at the Church of St. Joseph, Red Wing, with Father Thomas M. Kommers officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary?s Cemetery in Winona. Pallbearers will be Gene Jr., Reg, Chuck, Gene III, Ryan and Reg Adam Pelowski. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday with a 7 p.m. prayer service at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and at the church for one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Memorials preferred to the donor?s choice.
