Rochester The funeral for Mary Lou Hodge will be 1:00 p.m. Monday at Mahn Family Funeral Home Rochester Chapel with Rev. James Mattson of Zumbro Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Hodge, age 73, of Rochester, died Thursday (June 18, 2009) at her home after a lengthy illness.
Mary Lou Olson was born Dec. 30, 1935 in Mayville, ND. She moved to Grand Forks, ND when she was age nine and to Rochester when she was age fifteen. On Sept. 12, 1953 she married Roy Hodge in Oronoco, MN. Mr. Hodge died Sept. 29, 1997. She was a longtime employee of St. Mary's Hospital where she worked in food service. She was a member of Zumbro Lutheran Church and the Rochester Elks Lodge. She did volunteer work for the Elks Lodge and the Festival of Trees. She enjoyed ceramics, sewing, quilting, and gardening.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbie (Gary) Briggs of Rochester; and Cecelia (David) Johnson of LeRoy, MN; six grandchildren; Troy, Melissa, Jeremy, Jennifer, Jami, and Deanna; six great grandchildren: Jacob, Kaitlyn, Anthony, Gunner, Jaysen, and Kylie; two sisters, Roberta Risley of Rochester; and Kari (Robert) Jensen of Park Rapids, MN; and her sister in law, Cora Day of Rochester. Her parents preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, and one hour before the service Monday, at Mahn Family Funeral Home Rochester Chapel.
