Mary Lou Linder, 79, of Red Wing, died Tuesday, December 29, 2020, peacefully in her home. She was born May 12, 1941, in Lake City to Karl and Jane Anna (Staehli) Tombarge. She attended Red Wing Central High School, and later in life, was proud to receive her GED. On October 18, 1958, she was united in marriage to Eugene Linder and they made their home in Red Wing. After her children were older, she began working at Rivera Kitchens, staying until they closed in the late 90’s. She then worked for Bridgeport Cabinets in Hager City until her retirement. Mary was a member of the Church of St. Joseph and the Red Men Nakomis Council 27. In the past, she and Eugene enjoyed taking the family camping and fishing and she also did some embroidery work and painting. In her retirement years, she kept busy with her friend Lois, and was a part of the Senior Citizens of Mazeppa with her. She also loved reading and baking, but most of all, loved her family, especially her grandbabies and great-grandbabies. She was a kind and gentle woman, with patient soul—and as a MN Vikings fan, patience is important.
She is survived by 3 sons, Michael (Marcene) of Farmington, Robert (Penny) of Lake City and Richard of Red Wing; 3 daughters, Mary Jo (Gary Nason) Deden and Amy (Tim Hardy) Linder both of Red Wing and Ann (Mike Pinc) Wedde of Sandstone; 8 grandchildren, Mitchell Linder, Melissa Prinzig, Shane Carsten, Ashley Sarvela, Jakob Linder, Denae Ormsby, Tammy Rekstad and Michael Bengen; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Karen (Dale) Fabian of St. Charles and Lois Sommerfield of Lake City and many nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene in 2001; her twin sister, Mavis Naseth; 2 grandchildren, Brett Larson and Kaili Linder and a son-in-law, Gene Deden, Sr.
Mass of the Resurrection will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at the Church of St. Joseph with Father James Notebaart presiding. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. A walk-through visitation will be from 5-7p.m. Tuesday, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
