Mary Lou Jane Larson

Mary Lou Jane Larson, 84 of Red Wing, died Thursday, September 12, 2019 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. She was born January 28, 1935 in Red Wing to Floyd and Leona (Pomeroy) Wood. She attended school in Red Wing and on December 10, 1955 she married Kenneth Larson. They made their home in Goodhue where they raised their children. In 1976 they moved to Red Wing. A natural caregiver she helped look after her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of United Lutheran Church and a past member of the Legion and VFW Auxiliary. She was a wonderful homemaker, skilled baker, avid reader and her family was the center of her world. She was an avid MN Twins fan and rarely missed watching a game. Mary Lou was gentle, kind and never complained.
She will be missed by many, including her three children, Kenneth, Jr. "Butch" (Chrystal) of Owatonna, Jane (David) Ramstad of Red Wing and Timothy, Sr. (Karen) of Fairbault; grandchildren, Mandy (Brandon) Albin, Kendra (Josh) Born, Pam (Matt) Richardson, Laura (Trey) Friemel, Kevin Ramstad, Jonny Ramstad, Jessica (Dean) Kittelson, Patricia (Joe) Gonzales, Andrew Larson, Jennifer Larson, Heather (Robert) Falkner, Tom Taylor and Samantha McClellan; 19 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; 6 siblings, Joyce Ryan of Red Wing, Sandy (Joe) Morseth of Zumbrota, Nancy (Jim) Ramstad of Red Wing, Jim (Joan) Wood of Zumbrota, Mike (Sandy) Wood of Red Wing and Steve (Debbie) Wood of Red Wing; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth in 2002; a daughter, Ann Erickson; two grandsons, Timothy Larson, Jr. and Matthew Larson and a great-grandson, Austin.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday, September 16, 2019 at United Lutheran Church with Reverend Karl Rydholm officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, 2019, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and one hour prior to the service at church.
