Mary K. Hahn age 86 of Mason City, IA formerly of Pine Island died on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at the Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City. Graveside services are scheduled for Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the Pine Island Cemetery with Father Timothy Dolan officiating.
Mary Katherine Loesch was born on November 12, 1921 in Vermillion, MN to Mathew and Mary (nee Kiemen) Loesch. She grew up in Vermillion and graduated from Farmington High School in 1940. On November 4, 1942 she married Dale V. Hahn in Farmington. They made their home in several different communities in Iowa until settling in Pine Island in 1959. Mary worked at the Rainbow Caf? and Miller's Clothing Store. In 1980 they moved to Mason City, IA and lived there until moving to Mountain Lake, AR. They lived in Mountain Lake from June of 1986 to April of 1987. Dale died on April 26, 1987 and Mary moved to Mason City. She worked for Newman Catholic Daycare for nine years and was a demonstrator at Cash Wise Foods for four years. Mary enjoyed working with young people, bowling, sewing and baking. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the VFW Auxiliary, both in Mason City. Mary is survived by one daughter, Cynthia (Harvey) Aadahl of Zumbrota, special friends, Karen, Neal, Brandon, Monika, Jacqueline and Daniel Keeling all of Mason City, one granddaughter, Kim (Kevin) Aadahl Schmidt of Maplewood, one great granddaughter, Victoria Schmidt of Maplewood and her dog Bonnie. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Dale, son, Colin Hahn, two sisters and five brothers. The family suggests memorials t St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mason City.
