Mary Alice Hoisington, 77, of Red Wing, formerly of Hager City, died Friday at her home. She was born February 22, 1931 in Robbinsdale, Minn. to Irv and Alice Everts. She married Douglas Hoisington on September 8, 1951 in Red Wing and had worked at the Red Wing Shoe Company for 36 years in the sole department. Douglas died on April 5, 1995. Mary was a member of the Harding Hall Darrington American Legion Post 357 Auxiliary and of Svea Lutheran Church. She loved camping, sun fishing, going to garage sales, collecting antiques and quilting at Svea. She also loved the holidays and decorating for them.
She is survived by her son, Derf (Nancy) Hoisington of Hager City; granddaughter, Serena Leslie Hoisington and many other friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Douglas.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Carol Ann McArdell officiating. Burial will be at Bay City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill and John Lee, Tony Poschel, Rex Miller and Greg and Gary Hoisington. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
