Mary `Lyons` Haines

Mary Lyons Haines age 53 of Lake City died Thursday July 27, 2006 at her home. Mary was born June 14, 1953 in Albert Lea, Minnesota to Howard & Florence (Backman) Lyons. Mary graduated from Kasson Mantorville High School in 1971. She attended Winona State and received a Bachelors Degree in Music Education. Mary then received a Masters Degree from South Dakota State in Music and Counseling. She worked as a Guidance Counselor in the Goodhue Public School System. She enjoyed playing in Orchestras and she had a great love for music and theater. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lake City. She is survived by her parents, Howard & Florence Lyons of Lake City; two brothers, David (Julie) of Chanhassen, Robert (Paige) of Farmington; two sisters, Carol (Brad) Timmerman of Rochester, Kay (Jeff) Klein of Eyota; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents. A Memorial service will be held Tuesday August 1, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Lake City with the Rev. Don Jones officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Lake City. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City.
