Mary T. Esser age 85 of Zumbrota died on Friday morning, May 22, 2009 at Sunrise Cottages in Rochester. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Zumbrota with Father Tim Dolan officiating. Burial will be on Wednesday at 1:30 PM at St. Bridget's Catholic Cemetery in Simpson. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, May 26, 2009 from 4:30 â�" 7:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home â�" Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and on Wednesday one hour prior to the mass at the church.
Mary Teresa Weber was born on August 4, 1923 in Simpson, MN to Martin H. and Marie C. (nee Bingham) Weber. She grew up in Simpson and graduated from Central High School in Rochester in 1941. In 1942 she married John Esser. They made their home in Pine Island for several years before settling in Zumbrota in 1944. Mary spent most of her life in the Forest Mills area of Zumbrota.
Mary enjoyed cooking, crocheting, playing with and spoiling her grandchildren. Mary is survived by her children, John (Joanne) Esser of Boring, OR, William (Kathy) Esser of Dassel, MN, Sherry (Karroll) Bublitz of Winona, Linda (Merlyn) Unger of Zumbrota, Larry (Pat) Esser of Rochester, Pete (Gana) Esser of Boring, OR, Jim (Kay) Esser and Carla (Chuck) Klepperich, both of Zumbrota, nineteen grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren, one brother, Edward (Marie) Weber of Rochester and one sister, Georgia (Jerry) Witte of Chatfield. Mary was preceded in death by her parents. Casketbearers are Martin, Daniel, Christopher and Timothy Esser and Charles and Michael Klepperich. Honorary bearers are Jefferson Bublitz, Andrew Esser, Dallas, James and Chad Buss.
