Mary M. Bergstralh

Mary M. Bergstralh, age 93, of Mazeppa died on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the Lake City Care Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Mazeppa with Father Robert G. Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Oronoco Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and Wednesday one hour prior to the mass at the church.
Mary Margaret Huberty was born on May 31, 1918 in Bellechester, MN to John and Clara (nee Poncelet) Huberty. She grew up in Bellechester, attended St. Mary's School and graduated from Mazeppa High School in 1938. Mary attended the Minneapolis School of Business and started working as a bookkeeper. She worked as a bookkeeper for banks in Bellechester, Long Beach, CA and Mazeppa. In 1945 she married Ted Siems. They had two children Jim and Diane and they later divorced. In 1953 she married John Bergstralh and they had one son, Eric. Mary retired in 1986 after eighteen years working for Three Rivers Community Action in Zumbrota. In 2007 she moved from Mazeppa to the The HomeStead At Rochester. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, cross-stitching, cooking & baking and spending time with her grandchildren. Mary was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, its ladies circle and Swanson-Owens VFW Post #9647 Auxiliary in Oronoco. Mary is survived by her two sons, Jim (Ruth) Siems of Mazeppa and Eric (Deb) Bergstralh of Mazeppa; grandchildren, Aaron Bergstralh, Adam Bergstralh, Carrie Bergstralh, Nick Culver, Cecelia Siems and Christine Siems; many special nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her husband John; former husband, Ted; daughter, Diane Siems and sister, Frances Scott.
