Marvin Dale Patton

July 3, 1946 — February 22, 2019

Marvin Patton passed away at his home on Friday, February 22, 2019 at the age of 72.

Marv was the son of Vernon and Elsie (Ketola) Patton, born on July 3, 1946 in Duluth, MN. Marv graduated from Hermantown High School in 1965 and attended Dunwoody College of Industrial Institute, graduating in the Tool and Die program in 1967.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy of 50 years of marriage.

He was the proud father of son, Rob Patton of Baldwin, WI and daughter, Kristi Gross and her husband Mike of Lake City, MN.

He enjoyed his time with his four grandchildren, Bryanna, Lydia, Carson and Cody.Playing pool in the basement, playing cribbage, golfing, attending ball games, fishing and making his special pancakes for them, when they stayed over night. Marv was also Great Grandpa to Alex.

He is survived by his sister Gerhua Eady of Norman, Oklahoma and preceded in death by his parents and brother, Earl Patton.

Marv and Cindy traveled throughout the USA, hitting most states, after retirement as Warehouse Manager from Red Wing Shoe in Red Wing, Minnesota, on 08/08/08( a date chosen by Marv so he would always remember his retirement date). Marv and Cindy enjoyed several bus trips traveling out to the West Coast and several times to the East Coast. He enjoyed riding the bus so he could enjoy the beautiful scenery of our great country.

Most recently Marv, Cindy and Marv's four legged friend, FeBe, spent the winters in Texas. This year's trip ended short, with Marv being diagnosed with Cancer on January 20, 2019. Marv will be remembered for his time spent on the golf course working or playing or telling stories of golfing with his buddies. Marv achieved a Hole in One, three different times at the Mt. Frontenac golf course. Most recently he took up fishing with his friend on the Mississippi River. They were always trying a new batter for a great fish fry.

A man who enjoyed life to the fullest.

His wish for after death was to have a celebration at Mt. Frontenac. A place he loved. A date will be set for the spring.
