Marvin Richard Falk, 81, Red Wing, died Sunday night at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park. He was born April 16, 1927 in Canby, Minnesota, the son of Richard Mable (Johnson) Falk. He attended school in Canby and moved with his family to Minneota. He served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War, stationed in Guam. He married Mary Jane Nelson on July 17, 1948 in Cokato, MN. They lived in McMinnville, Oregon, Lake City, MN and finally settled in Zumbrota where he started Falk Auto Body in 1958 and where they raised their family. He retired young from the Auto Body Shop and they traveled winters in their motor home to Florida, Texas and Arizona. An active community participant and leader he was a member of United Redeemer Lutheran Church, a Charter Member of the Zumbrota Lions club, a member of the Zumbrota VFW, the Zumbrota Golf Club and the Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed taking his family on camping ventures, golfing, boating fishing and hunting and was known community wide for his culinary skills. He will always be fondly remembered for his amazing ability to dismantle and reassemble anything to perfection.

Survivors include his wife, Mary of Red Wing; five children: Nancy (Gerald) Brezinski of Prior Lake, MN, Rick (Judy) Falk of St. Croix, USVI, Donald (Nancy) Falk of Red Wing; Gerda Falk of Houston, TX and Elizabeth (David) Berkstresser of Mesa, AZ; eight grandchildren: Todd Brezinski, Jennifer Marchessault, Tyler and Ashlyn Falk, Matthew and Brian Schmidt and Mary and William Berkstresser; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Rolland (Darlene Koob) Falk of Zumbrota. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Tyler Falk.

Burial will be at 12 noon on Friday, November 7, at the Zumbrota Cemetery with military honors. Following the burial, a memorial service will be held at 2 p. m. at the chapel at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park with Chaplain Dar Reeck officiating. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. A celebration of Marvin's life will be held at the home of Donald and Nancy Falk's home following the service. Memorials preferred to Fairview Red Wing Hospice or donor's choice. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
