Marveleen M. Brown age 84 of Pine Island died peacefully on Friday, July 31, 2009 at the Zumbrota Care Center. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Pine Island with Reverend Bruce Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Pine Island Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, August 4, 2009 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Mahler Chapel in Pine Island and on Wednesday one hour prior tohe mass at the church.

Marveleen Marcella Krier was born February 4, 1925 in Tyler, MN to John and Minnie (nee Munch) Krier. She married Elmer Gordon Brown on September 4, 1943 in Red Wing. They made their home in Pine Island, where they raised their family and farmed for thirty nine years. She was a wonderful homemaker, great cook, volunteer at Pine Haven and a devout member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.

She is survived by four daughters, Sandra (Jimmie) Bartholomew of Pine Island, Connie (David) Berry of Upland, CA, Kathryn (Thomas) Wytaske of Pine Island and Kristine Stoltz of Rochester; one sister, Marjorie (Van) Smith of Fairfield, CA; twelve grandchildren, Daniel Bartholomew, Matthew Bartholomew, Mark (Tiffany) Berry, Christopher (Stephanie) Berry, Chadwick Berry, Jeffrey (Marissa) Wytaske, Bradley (Michelle) Wytaske, Stuart Berry, Vanessa (Jesse) Forbes, Kimberly (Darin) Sanford, Amy Stoltz and Sara Stoltz; and twelve great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer, son-in-law, David Stoltz, four brothers, Chris, Joe, Roy and Ray Krier and three sisters, Josephine Dressen, Lucille Paulson and Lois Noser.
